When it feels far too familiar
When the world spins out of sanity, where is your safe space?
When it all gets to be so like that other time, what do you do?
Are you a helper or are you the boogie man?
The shooting on Michigan State’s campus reminded me of time when I sat at home waiting to hear if my Dad was okay, as he worked at the Physics Department of the U of Iowa and they had mass shooting event, perpetrated by one lone gunman, who was disgruntled over his physics grad work. He calmly walked around campus, showed up to a meeting and shot everyone inside and killed them. Then, because he was not quite over whatever it was, he went down to Provost’s office and shot a young lady working there, then turned the gun on himself. She was the only survivor.
Now Michigan State and how was this man even connected? He shot 5 folks, in two different settings and then turned the gun on himself. 3 are dead as of this writing and two are being treated from their life threatening wounds.
When do we enact stricter gun laws? WHEN do other people’s children stop being slaughtered for the “rights” of a few? WHEN is now.
I am tired of hearing on the news someone’s child will not return home after going to SCHOOL.

When do you stand up and say enough? I am a veteran and I have had enough, what about you? Common sense gun laws, stricter licensing, removal of fully and semi automatic weapons, NOW, not when someone else’s child doesn’t come home, because someone got in their feels and decided to take it out on everyone else, instead of owning their own problems. Guns are NOT THE ANSWER, ever, guns are the last resort.
